Submissions
Every Bird Records is a special kind of record label called a Community Interest Company (CIC). This means it's a company that exists to help the community, not just to make money for its owners. We support women living in the United Kingdom who are 18 and above. Our goal is to help female musicians in the United Kingdom to make their own music and share it with others.
If you're a female musician who wants to be part of the Every Bird Records Community, here's how you can get involved:
- Make your music: You'll need to record your own music, either at home or in a studio. It's important your music is in a format we can listen to. Because we help musicians at different stages in their journey you may use a smart phone to record a demo composition.
- Send us your music: You can send us your music through the submission form below. Make sure to include your name, the title of your song, and a short description of what your music is about.
- Wait for a response: We'll listen to your music and let you know if we think it would be a good fit for Every Bird Records. If we do, we'll ask you for some more information about yourself and your music.
- Release your music: If we agree to support you we can either help you release your music on your own initiative or on our label. This means that your music will be available for people to buy and download.
- Perform live (online and or in person). If we agree to support you we will help you develop your skills and suggest different ways to market yourself, make money, and get funding and gigs.
- Get paid: Whenever someone buys or downloads your music, or you perform live you'll get a percentage of the money. This is called a royalty*. But do not expect to make a lot of money from streaming your music.
We're looking for female musicians who are talented and dedicated, and who are passionate about making music, If you fit the bill, we'd love to hear from you.
*You’ll need to register with one or more the official bodies authorised to collect royalties on your behalf if you choose to receive royalties.
